Role Overview:
Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing low-voltage systems, including security systems, fire alarms, access control, audio-visual equipment, telecommunications, and network cabling. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical wiring, troubleshooting, and system integration while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, terminate, and test low-voltage wiring. Set up and configure security systems, fire alarms, access control, and surveillance cameras. Troubleshoot and repair system malfunctions or connectivity issues. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Ensure installations meet local codes, regulations, and manufacturer specifications. Conduct system tests to verify performance and make necessary adjustments. Collaborate with contractors, electricians, and other team members on project sites. Maintain tools, equipment, and materials for job efficiency. Document work performed, system configurations, and project progress.
Required Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two (2) years of low-voltage and/or fire alarm installation experience, including conduit installation and pipe bending. Current
FASA/BASA
certification required. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Capabilities:
Knowledge of low-voltage systems, cabling, and wiring methods. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols (NEC, BICSI, NFPA, etc.). Proficiency in using hand and power tools. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
