The Lead Technician, Low Voltage is responsible for helping supervise and performing the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of Fire Alarm systems. This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership duties, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards. The Lead Technician coordinates with project managers, guides team members, enforces safety protocols, and maintains high levels of customer satisfaction. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning & Coordination:
Review and process work plans in advanced; coordinate tools, equipment, and materials to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency Work with Project Managers and other departments to ensure installations are completed on schedule and within budget Manage daily worksite activities and scheduling impacts to ensure continuous progress
Personnel Guidance & Oversight:
Help mentor low voltage technician, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to team members as needed Perform regular on-site inspections to confirm all work meets company standards, project specifications, and customer expectations
Installation, Compliance, & Quality Assurance:
Install low voltage systems in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards Ensure all installation work complies with local building codes, safety guidelines, and internal quality standards Maintain knowledge of cable color codes, cable types, industry best practices, and cable testing procedures Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and accurately during installation or service calls Perform necessary repairs and adjustments to ensure full functionality of systems Complete post-installation documentation and coordinate with supervisors for final inspections
Customer Service & Communication:
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering professional service and clear communication throughout project execution Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and an organized inventory of tools, materials, and equipment
Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination:
Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task. Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention. Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents. Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed. Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma (or equivalent) required 5+ years of experience in Fire Alarm systems installation, with experience supervising a team of installers Strong knowledge of Fire Alarm and related systems Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to Fire Alarm systems installation NICET Certification required Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
EXPERIENCE, SKILL AND ABILITIES
