Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fire Alarm Technician and become a vital part of ensuring safety and compliance across commercial and industrial facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems to guarantee they operate flawlessly when needed. Your expertise will help protect lives, property, and ensure adherence to fire codes and safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge fire alarm technology, proprietary control panels, and integrated sprinkler systems, all while delivering exceptional customer service. Duties Install fire alarm systems, including wiring, sensors, proprietary control panels, and related components in accordance with blueprints and schematics Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on fire alarm systems to ensure optimal performance Troubleshoot electrical issues using tools such as voltmeters and power tools, diagnosing system faults efficiently Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and engineering documents related to system design and installation Perform testing of sensors, alarms, and sprinkler systems to verify compliance with NFPA standards and building codes Document all service activities meticulously through detailed reports and logs for compliance audits Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure fire alarm systems meet all fire codes and regulations Requirements Proven experience in fire alarm system installation, maintenance, or service technician roles with a strong understanding of fire alarm systems and low voltage electrical work Knowledge of proprietary fire alarm control panels, sensors, schematics, building code compliance, NFPA standards, and NEC regulations Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and engineering troubleshooting documents accurately Mechanical knowledge related to sprinkler fitting and fire sprinkler systems is highly desirable Familiarity with hand tools, voltmeters, power tools, and other field service equipment necessary for system installation and repair Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients Valid electrical experience or certifications as required by local regulations; experience in alarm system sales or fire alarm sales is a plus Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly in complex fire alarm networks Join us in safeguarding communities by ensuring that fire alarm systems are reliable, compliant, and ready to protect lives.
