Full Job Description Fire Alarm Technician Location:
Atlanta, GA Chief Facility Defense is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our growing fire alarm team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and inspecting commercial fire alarm systems while maintaining a high level of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Install, program, troubleshoot, and repair commercial fire alarm systems. Perform fire alarm service calls in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes. Diagnose system faults and resolve technical issues in the field. Read and interpret fire alarm drawings, riser diagrams, and project specifications. Perform device installation, wiring, programming, and system commissioning. Coordinate with customers, AHJs, contractors, and internal teams during projects and service work. Document service work, inspections, deficiencies, and repairs accurately. Maintain knowledge of manufacturer-specific fire alarm systems and programming tools. Maintain a safe work environment and follow company safety policies. Provide excellent customer service while representing the company professionally. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of commercial fire alarm installation, service, or inspection experience. Strong knowledge of NFPA-72 and applicable fire alarm codes. Experience troubleshooting conventional and addressable fire alarm systems. Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system drawings. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Preferred Qualifications NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification. Experience with major fire alarm manufacturers such as Kidde, Fire-Lite, Potter, Honeywell, or similar systems. Experience with fire alarm programming and commissioning.
