Winder, GA Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Customer communication High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Summary Responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm and life safety systems. This role ensures systems operate properly and comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations. The technician works independently in the field, providing high-quality service while maintaining strong customer relationships. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on fire alarm and life safety systems in accordance with NFPA standards and applicable local codes. Diagnose system issues, identify malfunctions, and complete timely and accurate repairs. Program, configure, and verify fire alarm control panels and related devices. Complete detailed service reports, inspection documentation, and compliance forms. Maintain accurate records of system work, deficiencies, and corrective actions. Communicate effectively with customers regarding system status, required repairs, and code compliance. Coordinate with project managers, service coordinators, and inspectors as needed. Ensure company tools, test equipment, and service vehicles are properly maintained. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and job site regulations. Stay current with industry codes, technologies, and certification requirements. Participate in on-call rotation and emergency service response. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications preferred; minimum of 1-3 years of experience servicing fire alarm or life safety systems preferred; NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred or required based on state; strong working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes. Computer Skills Microsoft Office applications; proficiency with fire alarm panels, devices, and testing equipment; ability to use mobile service software, smartphones, and basic computer applications; familiarity with system manufacturers such as Notifier or equivalent preferred. Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces; ability to work at heights and in occupied buildings; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; field-based role at commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties; exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and electrical environments; On-call rotation and occasional overtime may be required.
