Job Description

The Access Control Technician at Scientel Solutions is responsible for performing tasks associated with installation, service and/or maintenance of security systems, and all related infrastructure in both indoor and outdoor scenarios. You will install or replace Access Control Systems, IP Cameras, Video Management Systems, , and other security equipment. A successful candidate must be driven to learn new technologies, highly adaptable, and capable of mastering tasks quickly using technical and mechanical inclinations and knowledge. Wire and install access controls, readers, door hardware (locks) and panels following project drawings and diagrams Configuration, relay logic, and test lock/operator triggers. Align equipment, repair, or replace faulty devices, and test for operation Coordinate inspections and/or installations for a wide range of industries with Security/IP/CCTV/Access Control Systems Ability to work independently as well as on a team based on project Install, configure, and maintain access control systems Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning access control equipment Conduct regular maintenance checks and update systems as necessary Ensure the proper functioning of biometric scanners, card readers, and electronic locks Implement and program access control software Work with clients to customize security settings and access privileges Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents Train clients and end-users on the operation of access control systems Collaborate with IT and security teams to integrate access control with other security systems Document system configurations, changes, and maintenance activities Stay updated on the latest security technologies and industry practices Conduct risk assessments and recommend improvements for enhanced security Ensure compliance with relevant security regulations and standards Have a good understanding of Windows OS, networking, and the ability to communicate with IT professionals Minimum Experience and Educational Requirements High School Diploma or GED certificate 2+ years of direct experience installing, integrating and troubleshooting Access Control Systems Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices Experience with
Access Control Platforms:
Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Verkada Basic software & networking skills, IP addressing, basic switch configuration, security management software Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly & to work outdoors in all weather conditions and altitudes Strong organizational skills with the ability to efficiently document. Daily driving and maintenance of company vehicle Must maintain a valid driver's license with a safe driving record Must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card Must have or be willing to obtain OSHA Construction Industry 10-Hour DOL Card Must have or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
