Installation Technician - Security & Fire Burglar Alarm, Fire Alarm, Access Control & CCTV Position Overview United Security Alarm is seeking an experienced and dependable Installation Technician to install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain burglar alarm, fire alarm, access control, and CCTV/video surveillance systems. This hands-on field position is ideal for a skilled professional who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship, exceptional customer service, and reliable system performance. Typical Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Occasional overtime and limited after-hours/on-call work may be required for emergency service calls. Key Responsibilities Install, program, test, inspect, and service burglar alarm, fire alarm, access control, and CCTV systems Troubleshoot and repair system faults efficiently and professionally Perform preventative maintenance, routine inspections, and system upgrades Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation Ensure all installations comply with applicable codes, regulations, and company standards Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and office staff regarding job status, findings, and recommendations Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices Represent United Security Alarm professionally at customer sites Required Qualifications Proven experience installing and servicing Burglar alarms, Fire alarms, Access control systems, CCTV/video surveillance systems Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Reliable personal vehicle for daily travel to customer locations Ownership of basic industry hand tools and diagnostic equipment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Mechanical and electrical aptitude Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills Physical ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments Preferred Qualifications Industry certifications such as: ESA, NICET, Manufacturer-specific certifications and training Experience with leading security, access control, and video surveillance platforms Knowledge of local fire, life-safety, and security regulations Network and IP camera system experience What We Offer Stable, full-time weekday schedule Opportunity to work with a wide variety of innovative technologies Supportive and professional team environment Consistent workload and long-term career opportunity Company focused on quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
