In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical gate systems and related security infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of automated gates, access control systems, and associated mechanical components. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilize your technical skills, and contribute to the safety and security of commercial and residential properties. The ideal candidate is energetic, proactive, and possesses a strong foundation in mechanical systems and electrical components. Duties Install, calibrate, and service mechanical gate operators, hinges, motors, sensors, and safety devices to ensure optimal functionality. Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes quickly. Perform routine inspections of gate hardware, electrical wiring, low voltage systems, CCTV cameras, fire alarms, sensors, and surveillance equipment. Conduct field service visits to repair or replace defective components such as power supplies, cabling, hand tools, or system modules. Integrate security systems including IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), alarm systems, telecommunication devices, and remote access software for comprehensive security coverage. Collaborate with construction teams during site setup or upgrades involving electrical wiring, NEC (National Electrical Code) compliance, and low voltage cabling. Maintain detailed records of service activities, system configurations, schematics updates, and incident reports for accountability and future reference. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician specializing in security or mechanical gate systems with a strong background in electrical work. Knowledge of computer networking principles related to security system integration and remote access solutions. Mechanical knowledge of gate hardware components including motors, sensors (such as proximity or photoelectric), CCTV cameras, fire alarms, and low voltage wiring. Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems. Hands-on experience with power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, wire strippers, and other construction or maintenance tools. Familiarity with alarm system sales processes or customer service experience in security system installation is a plus. Electrical experience including cabling techniques compliant with NEC standards; knowledge of telecommunication systems is advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to explain technical issues clearly to clients or team members.
