About the Job Company Description Our client is a well-established fire protection company providing comprehensive fire protection services for commercial and industrial facilities. The company is supported by NICET-certified designers and experienced field technicians who deliver reliable, code-compliant solutions to help protect people, property, and critical infrastructure. Team members work in a professional, safety-focused environment with opportunities to apply and expand their technical expertise in the fire protection industry. Role Description This is a full-time Fire Alarm Technician position based in Curtis Bay, MD. The Fire Alarm Technician will install, program, test, inspect, and maintain fire alarm and related life safety systems in commercial and industrial facilities. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing system issues, performing preventive maintenance, completing service calls, and ensuring all work complies with applicable codes and standards. The technician will document work performed, maintain accurate service records, and communicate clearly with customers and team members regarding system status, recommendations, and repairs. The role may also involve collaborating with other technicians, supporting project deadlines, and following all safety procedures and company policies. Qualifications Experience working with low-voltage systems , including wiring, panels, and system components. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose system faults, interpret error codes, and resolve technical issues efficiently. Experience with fire alarm systems, including installation, programming, testing, inspection, and maintenance. Knowledge of life safety principles, including applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices. Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and professionally. Prior experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or Low-Voltage Technician preferred. Familiarity with NFPA standards and basic electrical principles. NICET Fire Alarm Systems Certification , or progress toward certification, is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics. Proficiency with standard hand and power tools while following safe work practices. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including climbing ladders and lifting equipment.
