Full-Time Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with occasional weekend work Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join a busy warehouse and industrial operation specializing in the handling, storage, loading, and unloading of steel and metal materials. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, yard, or industrial environment and, most importantly, prior experience handling steel, metal, or other heavy materials. This position requires strong attention to safety, physical stamina, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Key Responsibilities- Safely operate forklifts to move, load, unload, and position steel and metal materials.
- Handle heavy and oversized materials while following all safety procedures.
- Load and unload trucks and organize materials in designated storage areas.
- Inspect materials and ensure they are properly secured and positioned.
- Assist with receiving, staging, and organizing inventory.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse and operations teams.
- Perform other general warehouse and material-handling duties as assigned.
- Work safely and efficiently in both indoor and outdoor environments. Requirements
- Previous forklift experience is required.
- Experience handling steel, metal, or other heavy industrial materials is highly preferred.
- Valid forklift certification is preferred.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift around heavy, oversized, and potentially uneven loads.
- Ability to work in different weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Willingness to work occasional weekends when needed. Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Employees must have and wear the following PPE while working:
- Steel-toe boots
- Work gloves
- Safety glasses
- Fluorescent/high-visibility safety vest Work Environment This is an active industrial warehouse and yard environment w employees may be exposed to heavy equipment, steel and metal materials, noise, dust, and changing weather conditions.
