Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fire and Alarm Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of fire alarm and security systems. Your expertise will ensure the safety and security of our clients' facilities by delivering exceptional service and technical support. Responsibilities Install, program, and commission fire alarm systems, access control, CCTV surveillance, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and other security equipment in accordance with schematics and electrical blueprints. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on low-voltage electrical systems, cabling, sensors, and security hardware to ensure optimal operation. Troubleshoot complex issues related to equipment malfunction, wiring problems, network connectivity, remote access software, and system integration. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to accurately install or repair security systems. Provide technical troubleshooting support for customer-reported issues with alarm & access control systems, surveillance cameras, door security system integration, and telecommunication components. Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs; recommend upgrades or new system installations that enhance safety measures. Maintain detailed service records, installation logs, inspection reports, and documentation of all work performed. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician specializing in fire alarm systems or electrical security systems installation and maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with hands-on experience using power tools and hand tools for system installation or repairs. Familiarity with computer hardware, networking concepts, remote access software, and telecommunication systems relevant to security infrastructure. Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret low-voltage electrical wiring diagrams accurately. Knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems including cabling practices for alarms, sensors, CCTV cameras, intercoms, and lock systems. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Physical ability to perform fieldwork that involves climbing ladders, lifting equipment or materials, and working in various environmental conditions. Valid experience in electrical blueprint reading and system design for integrated security solutions is preferred.
