Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Alarm Technician to install, configure, test, and maintain security alarm systems and video surveillance (CCTV/IP camera) systems for residential and commercial clients. The ideal candidate combines strong technical aptitude with excellent customer service skills and takes pride in delivering reliable, high-quality work. On the job training will be provided. Duties Installation Install and configure intrusion alarm systems Mount, aim, and configure CCTV and IP camera systems Run and terminate cabling and perform wireless installations Set up network video recorders (NVR), digital video recorders (DVR), and cloud-based recording platforms Configure remote access, mobile app integration, and user accounts for clients Service & Maintenance Troubleshoot system faults, wiring issues, connectivity problems, and false alarms Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and system upgrades Replace defective components and reprogram panels as needed Compliance & Documentation Test systems to verify proper operation and complete commissioning checklists Maintain accurate records of installations, service visits, equipment serials, and customer signatures Ensure all work complies with local building codes, standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable licensing requirements Customer Service Communicate clearly and courteously with clients, explaining work performed and answering questions Educate customers on system operation and features Represent the company professionally in customers' homes and businesses Keep work areas clean and secure Qualifications Ability to read product manuals, wiring diagrams, and floor plans Comfortable working on ladders, in attics/crawl spaces, and in varying weather conditions Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail Good communication and customer-facing skills Valid driver's license Clean background check and drug test Preferred Qualifications Experience with camera and access control systems Basic IT networking knowledge Bilingual communication skills Physical Requirements Lift and carry equipment up to 70 lbs Stand, kneel, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods Distinguish wire colors and read small print on equipment labels Compensation & Benefits $16-22/hour, based on experience Company vehicle provided Ongoing training and certification support San Lee Security is an equal opportunity employer.
