We are seeking a self-motivated Senior Security & Fire Alarm Lead Technician for our Roselle, NJ location. The ideal candidate will manage daily schedules, service calls, and a company vehicle with care, efficiency, and precision while leading full-scope commercial and residential projects.
Core Responsibilities System Installation:
Mount panels, power supplies, card readers, electronic locking hardware, and IP cameras. Read floor plans and riser diagrams; run, dress, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling, including Cat5e/Cat6 and fire wire.
Access Control & Video Integration:
Install, program, and service Avigilon, Brivo, Eagle Eye Networks, DSX, and Hikvision systems. Configure controllers, cloud gateways, electronic locks, readers, and cloud or local VMS platforms.
IP Networking:
Configure IP security devices, assign static IP addresses and subnets, and integrate security hardware onto client local area networks.
Service & Advanced Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and repair complex system faults, including ground faults, open loops, communication dropouts, and power supply issues across burglar, fire, and access control systems.
NFPA Fire Inspections:
Perform routine and annual fire alarm testing while accurately completing required NFPA 72 inspection reports.
On-Call & Client Relations:
Provide professional client communication, participate in the regular on-call rotation, and maintain high standards for commercial and residential accounts.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
5+ years of hands-on field experience in commercial and residential low-voltage security, access control, and fire alarm systems, including installation and service.
Platform Expertise:
Direct hands-on familiarity with DSX, Brivo, Avigilon, Eagle Eye Networks, and Hikvision systems.
Technical Skills:
Strong background in schematic reading, system design, low-voltage cabling, power tools, and hand tools.
Communication & Mindset:
Excellent communication skills with management and clients, along with strong self-management, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Additional Requirements:
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and may be subject to a background check and drug testing.
