Job Description

Established electronic security and fire alarm company is seeking an experienced technician to service an existing customer base throughout Central and Northern New Jersey. This is an opportunity to join a long-established alarm business as we enter its next stage of growth. We are looking for someone who can work independently in the field, take ownership of customer service, and potentially grow into a larger role as the company expands through both organic growth and acquisitions.
Responsibilities include:
Fire alarm inspections and testing Burglar and fire alarm service and troubleshooting Repair and replacement of existing equipment Installation and programming of alarm systems Cellular/radio communicator upgrades Customer service and communication Accurate documentation of inspections and service calls Identifying appropriate system upgrades and additional customer needs Ideal candidate: 3+ years of fire/security alarm experience preferred Strong troubleshooting ability Experience with both fire and burglar alarm systems Familiarity with NFPA 72 and applicable fire alarm requirements Ability to independently perform inspections and service calls Experience with multiple alarm manufacturers and legacy systems NICET certification is highly desirable but not required for the right candidate Valid driver's license and good driving record Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills Honest, dependable and comfortable working independently
Compensation:
$35-$45/hour depending on experience and qualifications, with the opportunity for additional performance-based compensation. Company vehicle/tools and benefits structure can be discussed based upon experience and employment arrangement. This is not intended to be a dead-end technician position. We are building a larger electronic security platform and are interested in someone who wants the opportunity to grow with the business and be rewarded for helping us retain customers, generate additional revenue and expand the customer base.
