Overview:

We are a leading Fire Alarm Installation & Service Company based in New York, seeking a dedicated and experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals passionate about fire safety systems, customer service, and technical troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems in compliance with all relevant codes and standards.

Duties:

Install fire alarm systems according to manufacturer specifications, fire codes, regulations, and NFPA standards. Perform routine maintenance and inspections of fire alarm systems to ensure optimal operation and compliance. Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics to facilitate accurate installation and troubleshooting. Conduct electrical work related to fire alarm systems, including wiring, testing, and system upgrades. Troubleshoot complex issues with fire alarm systems using engineering principles and diagnostic tools. Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols and industry best practices. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding system status, maintenance needs, and safety procedures. Document all work performed accurately in service reports and maintain detailed records of system configurations.

Requirements:

Proven experience working with fire alarm systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of fire codes, regulations, NFPA standards, and manufacturer guidelines (such as Notifier). Strong understanding of electrical blueprint reading and electrical work related to fire alarm systems. Ability to troubleshoot engineering issues related to fire alarm technology efficiently. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Valid technical certifications or licenses related to fire alarm systems are preferred but not mandatory. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety compliance.
