This role is integral to ensuring the safety and security of our community by delivering high-quality, reliable installations and responsive service. As a Security & Access Control Technician, you will work with cutting-edge technology while building strong relationships with clients and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Installation & Maintenance:
Install, program, and configure security and access control systems, including Genetec , Galaxy , card readers, keypads, intercoms, and CCTV systems. Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and upgrades to ensure systems remain operational and meet client needs. Troubleshoot and repair system malfunctions promptly, minimizing downtime for clients.
Client Engagement & Support:
Provide professional, friendly service to clients, ensuring clear communication about system functionality, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance needs. Collaborate with clients to tailor security solutions to their specific requirements, offering guidance on upgrades and enhancements.
Team Collaboration & Development:
Work closely with other technicians and team members to ensure seamless project execution. Share knowledge and expertise with team members, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all installations and services comply with relevant codes, standards, and company policies. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment for both team members and clients.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of installations, services, and repairs, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accessible. Provide detailed reports to clients and management, highlighting completed work and recommendations for future needs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience with security and access control systems or related technologies. Experience with Genetec , Galaxy , Honeywell, Lenel, Axis, or similar access control platforms is required. Experience with CCTV systems and networked security devices is a plus. Relevant certifications (e.g., ESA, NICET, or equivalent) are preferred.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents. High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

SCHEDULE
Full-time position with regular business hours, Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend or after-hours work may be required based on project demands.
WORK LOCATION
In-person role based in Syracuse, NY, with local travel required.
