Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Alarm Installation Technician with proven experience in installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a wide range of security systems. Responsibilities Install electrical security systems including alarm, access control, CCTV, sensors, fire alarms, and door security integrations following schematics and blueprints. Conduct detailed system design assessments to determine optimal placement of sensors, cameras, and wiring. Troubleshoot complex issues related to low-voltage electrical wiring, equipment malfunctions, and network connectivity using hand tools and power tools. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure precise installation aligned with electrical codes such as NEC standards. Perform routine maintenance, remote access software configuration, and system upgrades on security hardware and software platforms. Provide technical troubleshooting support for physical security systems including IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), surveillance cameras, alarm panels, and intercoms. Collaborate with clients to deliver exceptional customer service by explaining system features, training users, and addressing concerns promptly. Skills Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics for system installation. Extensive field service experience in electrical security system installation and troubleshooting. Proficiency with computer hardware, networking concepts, remote access software, and telecommunication systems. Strong understanding of low-voltage electrical systems including wiring techniques, cabling practices, and blueprint reading. Hands-on experience with alarm & access control systems integration such as door security system setup. Knowledge of surveillance equipment including CCTV cameras, sensors, fire alarms, and intrusion detection systems (IDS). Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently using hand tools like drills, wire strippers, multimeters; familiarity with NEC standards is a plus. Construction or related experience preferred for seamless integration within building environments. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Familiarity with security system sales processes is advantageous for client consultations.
