Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Fire Alarm Systems Technician role based in Delhi, OH. The technician will install, configure, test, and maintain fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer specifications. Day-to-day tasks include performing site surveys, running and terminating cables, mounting and wiring devices and panels, and conducting system start-up and functional testing. The role also involves troubleshooting and repairing system faults, performing scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance, and accurately documenting all work performed. The technician will interact with clients and internal teams to explain system operation, provide basic user training, and ensure timely, high-quality service. Qualifications Technical skills in fire alarm system installation, configuration, and maintenance, including familiarity with control panels, detectors, notification devices, and wiring practices. Knowledge of relevant fire and life safety codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 72 or equivalent), and the ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. Experience using electrical and electronic test equipment, basic hand tools, and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and repair of low-voltage systems. Understanding of related security and building systems such as CCTV, access control, networking basics, and power backup solutions is advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to complete tasks safely and efficiently with minimal supervision. Effective communication and customer service skills, including the ability to work professionally on client sites and within cross-functional teams. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and working in varied indoor and outdoor environments.
