8-hour shifts with overtime as needed Job Summary Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a Low Voltage / Fire Alarm Maintenance Technician to install, service, program, troubleshoot, and maintain a variety of low-voltage systems and cabling. This position is ideal for a motivated technician who is a fast learner, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and interested in developing their skills across multiple low-voltage technologies. Extensive on-the-job training will be provided. Responsibilities Install, service, program, troubleshoot, and maintain a variety of low-voltage systems and cabling, including: Fire alarm systems, including addressable and conventional systems Burglar/security alarm systems IP and analog video surveillance systems Electronic access control systems Nurse call systems Audio-visual and paging systems Voice and data structured cabling Fiber optic cabling Phone systems Networking equipment Complete wiring, connections, equipment installation, and system setup to ensure projects meet customer and contractual requirements. Troubleshoot newly installed systems to verify proper operation and compliance with applicable local, county, state, and federal codes and requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, building plans, and electrical plans to complete installations and repairs. Perform installation, service, and repair work in a safe, professional, and efficient manner. Communicate with customers, answer questions, and resolve concerns to maintain strong customer relationships. Follow OSHA requirements and established safety practices to maintain a safe and secure work environment. Utilize basic electrical tools, conduit, wiring, and installation practices. Utilize basic networking and IT knowledge when working with low-voltage systems. Perform basic PC setup and software installations. Utilize Microsoft Office programs and electronic systems as required. Take initiative to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge. Maintain a clean and professional job site and leave each work area better than it was found. Work overtime when needed to meet project and customer requirements. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or GED. Valid State of Ohio Fire Alarm License — Required. Basic knowledge of electrical tools, conduit, and wiring practices. Basic knowledge of network equipment and IT systems. Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and electrical plans. Basic computer skills, including PC setup and software installation. Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers. Ability to follow safety procedures and OSHA standards. Ability to work overtime as needed. Preferred Previous experience with low-voltage systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, access control, structured cabling, networking, or related technologies. Experience with commercial or industrial installations. Experience troubleshooting electrical or low-voltage systems.
