Environmental Controls Fire Protection (ECFP)

Varies (may include early mornings and evenings based on customer needs) Position Summary Environmental Controls Fire Protection (ECFP) is hiring a Licensed Fire and Security Technician to perform inspections, service, and maintenance of fire alarm and security systems in commercial and industrial environments. This position requires a motivated, customer-focused technician who can work independently, manage responsibilities efficiently, and deliver high-quality service while ensuring system compliance and performance. Key Responsibilities Perform inspections, testing, service, and maintenance on fire alarm and security systems Respond to service and trouble calls Identify deficiencies and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades Communicate findings and coordinate corrective actions with the Service Coordinator Complete accurate inspection reports (electronic and/or handwritten) Document time worked and all job-related activities Work independently with minimal supervision Promote ECFP products and services to customers Maintain a professional image and deliver excellent customer service Manage tools, equipment, and vehicle inventory Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements Collaborate with team members and perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Free of any non-compete obligations High school diploma or equivalent (IT knowledge preferred) 2+ years of fire protection industry experience preferred Ohio State Fire Marshal License (Fire Alarms/Detection) required Knowledge of NFPA codes, building codes, and fire safety regulations Valid driver's license with a safe driving record Ability to pass drug screen, background check, and reference verification Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications Strong mechanical and technical aptitude Effective communication skills with customers, management, and AHJs Basic math skills Reliable attendance and punctuality Willingness to work a flexible schedule Physical Requirements Lift and carry at least 75 lbs Climb ladders (minimum 12 ft) and operate lifts up to 40 ft Stand and walk for extended periods (5-8 hours per shift) Perform frequent reaching, carrying, and repetitive motions Work in confined spaces, rooftops, and elevated environments Ability to identify colors, sounds, and alarm indicators Tolerate exposure to chemicals or ventilation irritants when required Benefits Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401(k) Plan Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Work Environment Work is performed in commercial and industrial settings with varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
