Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Fire Protection Designer to our Youngstown, OH team. In this role, you will design fire protection systems that meet code requirements and customer specifications, contributing directly to the safety of the communities we serve. Success in this position requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across project teams. Key Responsibilities Design fire protection systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications. Prepare detailed layouts, drawings, and hydraulic calculations for fire sprinkler and suppression systems. Perform field measurements and site verifications as needed to support accurate design. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure design accuracy and constructability. Generate material lists and fabrication details to support project execution. Review and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings. Ensure designs comply with NFPA standards and local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements. Maintain organized project documentation and revise designs as required. Support the estimating and installation teams with technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications 5+ years of fire sprinkler or fire suppression design experience preferred. Minimum 1 year of computer-based drafting experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or related design software. Working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards. Ability to read and interpret construction documents. Strong mathematical and hydraulic calculation skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication and collaboration abilities. Physical Demands & Work Environment Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional field visits to active construction sites. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed. Must be able to navigate job sites, including climbing ladders and stairs. Exposure to varying environmental conditions during site visits. The salary for this role is $70,000 to $110,000 per year , based on experience and qualifications.
