Low Voltage Fire Alarm Technician Tailwind Applied Sciences Oklahoma City, OK Job Details Full-time $50,000 - $70,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Customer communication Fire Alarm License Full Job Description Low Voltage / Fire Alarm Licensed Technician Job Summary Experienced Low Voltage and Fire Alarm Technician responsible for the installation, programming, testing, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of fire alarm and low-voltage systems in commercial, industrial, and residential facilities. Ensures all work complies with NFPA codes, local regulations, and customer specifications. Key Responsibilities Install and service fire alarm systems, including control panels, devices, and notification appliances. Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance in accordance with NFPA 72 standards. Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm, and structured cabling systems. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications. Program and commission fire alarm control panels and related devices. Maintain accurate service reports, inspection documents, and compliance records. Coordinate with customers, contractors, project managers, and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction). Ensure compliance with safety procedures, local codes, and industry standards. Train end users on system operation and functionality. Qualifications Licensed Fire Alarm Technician (state/local license as required). Experience with low-voltage systems, including fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and security systems. Knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 72, and applicable building codes. Ability to diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently. Strong communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites. Resume Experience Example Installed, programmed, tested, and serviced commercial fire alarm systems in compliance with NFPA 72 and local fire codes. Performed annual inspections, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs for fire alarm and low-voltage systems. Troubleshot wiring, devices, and control panels, reducing system downtime and ensuring code compliance. Installed and maintained CCTV, access control, intrusion alarm, and structured cabling systems. Interpreted blueprints and coordinated with general contractors and inspectors to complete projects on schedule.
