Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Alarm Technician to join our team. As an Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing alarm systems for residential and commercial clients. Your expertise in mechanical knowledge, computer hardware, and low voltage systems will be crucial in ensuring the proper functioning and security of alarm systems.Responsibilities:
- Install, program, and test alarm systems based on client specifications
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of alarm systems
- Troubleshoot and repair any issues or malfunctions with alarm systems
- Provide technical support to customers regarding alarm system operation
- Collaborate with clients to determine their specific security needs
- Perform site surveys to assess the best locations for alarm system installation
- Read blueprints and schematics to understand system layouts and wiring configurations
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and regulations during installation and maintenance processes
Skills:
- Strong mechanical knowledge to effectively install and maintain alarm systems
- Experience as a service technician, preferably in the security or electronics industry
- Proficiency in computer hardware and networking for system programming and troubleshooting
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics to understand system layouts
- Familiarity with power tools for installation purposes
- Knowledge of low voltage systems used in alarm systems
- Understanding of alarm system sales processes to effectively communicate with clients
