Position Summary We're seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Lead Designer to join our Design team in Lebanon, NJ. In this role, you'll produce high-quality fire alarm, mass notification, and security alarm system designs that meet customer expectations, industry standards, and code requirements while supporting project teams from design through closeout. What You'll Be Doing Design fire alarm, mass notification, and security alarm systems in AutoCAD for shop and record drawings. Communicate with customers, the Design Manager, sales team members, and project managers to provide status updates on assigned projects. Perform battery and voltage drop calculations for fire alarm systems. Prepare submittal packages, including drawings, calculations, and datasheets for permitting. Support contract sales efforts by reviewing plans, specifications, and bids for technical accuracy and best practices. Participate in weekly design meetings and job kick-off meetings when requested. Assist entry- to mid-level designers when requested by the Design Manager. Maintain knowledge of current materials, design techniques, installation practices, and applicable alarm system code requirements. Prepare and submit O&M packages, RFIs, permit drawings, documentation, applications, and transmittal forms in a timely manner. Perform site surveys to gather project information as needed. What We're Looking For Required High school diploma or equivalent required. 5+ years of experience as a fire alarm designer. Proficiency with AutoCAD and the ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings. Microsoft Office experience, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask successfully. Valid driver's license required. Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks. Preferred Bachelor's degree preferred. NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level III or higher. Delaware Fire Alarm License Holder preferred. VESDA design capability preferred. Experience participating in industry organizations related to alarm system design or code requirements preferred.
