GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE
The primary purpose of this position is to perform internal fire protection related assessments and observations; analyze the results of both internal and external fire protection related assessments; and work with Fire Protection Engineers (FPE), Design Authority Engineers (DAE) and Facility Operations personnel to effect resolutions to identified issues, gaps and vulnerabilities in the Fire Protection Program.
DUTIES:
1) Analyze, review, assess, and extract relevant information from assessments, program documents, procedures and technical reports with little or no superv1s1on 2) Support development, maintenance, and administration of Fire Protection related databases regarding S/RID and NFPA requirements including, but not limited to, the Fire Protection Database System 3) Perform Causal Analyses using CST and other assessment related sources to assist in effectively designing and implementing both root cause based remediation and pro-active based resolution 4) Work with FPEs, DAEs and Operations personnel to revise/develop procedures, revise/develop training protocol and to develop/recommend other implementation actions as needed to support compliance with DOE-STD-1066-2012 and Site Manual 2Q.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree in Business, Communications, Education or Engineering, with 10 years equivalent experience in project I technical support or document /configuration control in/ nuclear/chemical facilities/environment.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Candidate must be familiar with electronic document control and configuration management systems (e.g. SRS Linking Document Database (LDD) or Fire Protection Database System (FPDS)) Candidate must have prior experience with S/RID requirements (e.g. Safety Basis) implementation at SRS. Candidate must have prior QA auditor experience Candidate must have prior Causal Analysis experience Work Environment /
Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items, ability to walk short distances, may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. Due to government and/or federal regulations for this position, proof of U.S. citizenship is required.
