Join our dynamic team as a Fire Alarm Technician and play a vital role in safeguarding buildings and occupants through expert installation, maintenance, and inspection of fire alarm systems. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge proprietary fire alarm control panels, sensors, and sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with all fire codes and NFPA standards. As a key contributor, you will deliver exceptional customer service while demonstrating your mechanical knowledge and electrical expertise to keep fire safety systems operating flawlessly. Your hands-on skills and dedication will help protect lives and property in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm systems, including proprietary control panels and sensors, ensuring adherence to fire codes, NFPA standards, and building regulations Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical blueprints, and construction drawings to accurately execute system design and installation plans Conduct construction inspections to verify proper system integration with sprinkler systems, low voltage wiring, and other building infrastructure Perform routine fire alarm system testing, calibration, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance Utilize hand tools, power tools, CAD software, and engineering troubleshooting techniques to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions Collaborate with clients to provide exceptional customer service by explaining system functions, maintenance procedures, and compliance requirements Ensure all work complies with NEC (National Electrical Code), fire safety standards, and local building codes Requirements Proven experience in fire alarm system installation, maintenance, or service technician roles within construction or building management environments Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to low voltage wiring and alarm systems Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams accurately; familiarity with CAD is a plus Knowledge of fire alarm systems including sensors, proprietary control panels, NFPA standards, and fire codes & regulations Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and conducting electrical troubleshooting Construction experience or construction inspection background preferred; service technician experience is highly valued Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly Valid electrical license or certification as required by local jurisdiction; familiarity with fire sprinkler fitting is advantageous Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining safety protocols; physically capable of working at heights or confined spaces as needed Embark on a career where your technical expertise makes a real difference!
