$22.00-$32.00 per hour (based on experience) Position Summary CSI of the Southeast is seeking a dependable and motivated Access Control Field Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair access control systems, electronic door hardware, and other low-voltage security solutions primarily within hospital and healthcare environments. This position requires strong technical and troubleshooting skills, professionalism, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of customer service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and understands the importance of working in occupied healthcare facilities with minimal disruption to patients, staff, and daily operations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Install, program, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair access control systems and associated electronic security equipment. Install, configure, and service electronic door hardware, including card readers, electric strikes, magnetic locks, request-to-exit devices, door contacts, and related components. Configure and troubleshoot access control panels, controllers, and associated software. Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and functional testing of access control systems to ensure proper operation. Install, service, and troubleshoot CCTV cameras and video surveillance equipment as needed. Install, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling in accordance with industry standards. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and project documentation. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and basic network connectivity issues related to access control and electronic security systems. Work safely and professionally in occupied healthcare facilities while minimizing disruption to patients, staff, and daily operations. Adhere to all hospital, customer, and company safety, security, and infection control requirements while on-site. Coordinate with project managers, contractors, facility personnel, and other trades to complete projects on schedule. Complete accurate service reports, installation documentation, and project records. Maintain company tools, equipment, and work vehicles in a clean and organized manner. Communicate professionally with customers regarding work performed, system operation, and recommended repairs or improvements. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Qualifications Required Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Experience installing or servicing access control, security, or low-voltage systems. Basic understanding of electrical and low-voltage wiring. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Preferred Experience with access control platforms such as Mercury, Geovision, Lenel, Genetech, Milestone, or Honeywell. Experience with CCTV, intrusion, or structured cabling. Physical Requirements Lift up to 50 pounds. Climb ladders or work on lifts at varying heights. Bend, kneel, crawl, and stand for extended periods.
