Duties Install electrical security systems including alarm & access control systems, CCTV surveillance, sensors, fire alarms, and door security integrations according to schematics and technical drawings. Conduct low-voltage electrical wiring and cabling for various security devices using hand tools and power tools while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Troubleshoot and repair system issues related to equipment malfunction, sensor failures, network connectivity, and hardware faults with a focus on electrical security system troubleshooting. Read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure precise installation and system integration. Provide technical troubleshooting support remotely or onsite to resolve complex security system problems efficiently. Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs, offer system design solutions, and support alarm system sales initiatives. Maintain detailed documentation of installations, service reports, and system configurations to ensure compliance with safety standards and customer requirements. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience in field service operations. Proficiency in computer hardware setup, network configuration, remote access software, and telecommunication systems related to security infrastructure. Expertise in electrical blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, low-voltage electrical wiring, cabling techniques, and construction experience. Knowledge of IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), CCTV surveillance technology, sensors integration, fire alarm systems, and door security system integration. Skilled in equipment troubleshooting across various security devices including alarms, access controls, CCTV cameras, sensors, and intercom systems. Familiarity with low-voltage electrical systems standards such as NEC regulations; experience with electrical experience is highly valued. Ability to utilize hand tools and power tools safely for installation tasks; locksmithing skills are a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Experience working with schematics and interpreting technical drawings for accurate system setup. Construction background or experience working on new builds or renovations is advantageous for seamless integration of security systems.
