Duties Install, test, and commission fire alarm systems, including proprietary control panels and sensors, ensuring adherence to building codes and NFPA standards Perform routine maintenance and inspections of fire alarm systems to guarantee optimal operation and compliance with fire codes Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, system design documents, and CAD drawings for accurate installation and troubleshooting Conduct field service visits to diagnose system issues using tools such as voltmeters, power tools, and hand tools; perform engineering troubleshooting when necessary Inspect sprinkler systems and integrate fire alarm sensors with sprinkler controls to ensure comprehensive life safety coverage Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure fire alarm system integration aligns with project specifications Maintain detailed records of all service activities, system modifications, inspections, and repairs for compliance documentation Skills Proficiency in blueprint reading, electrical blueprint interpretation, schematics, and CAD for system design and installation planning Strong mechanical knowledge related to fire alarm components, sensors, sprinklers, low voltage wiring, and fire sprinkler fitting Hands-on experience with fire alarm systems installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and system design principles Knowledge of fire codes and regulations such as NFPA standards, NEC (National Electrical Code), building code compliance requirements Ability to operate field service equipment including voltmeters, power tools, hand tools; capable of electrical work within low voltage parameters Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients during installations or troubleshooting visits Experience in alarm system sales or fire alarm sales is a plus; ability to explain technical details clearly to non-technical stakeholders Join us in safeguarding communities by ensuring that fire alarm systems operate flawlessly.
