You must be comfortable handling installation, service, inspection, troubleshooting and programming responsibilities. What We Offer $30-$40 per hour, based on experience Company work truck Paid time off and paid holidays 401(k) with company match Multiple medical plan options Company-paid life insurance Paid licensing expenses NICET testing reimbursement Long-term career growth Limited overnight travel—only occasionally required Primary Responsibilities Install, service, inspect, troubleshoot and program commercial fire alarm systems Follow all company quality standards, safety procedures and applicable regulations Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics and product manuals Program systems and maintain accurate system documentation using a company laptop Test and troubleshoot fire alarm equipment, circuits and related low-voltage systems Work with multimeters, battery analyzers, digital analyzers, frequency meters, decibel meters and communication devices Complete service reports and other required paperwork accurately and on time Communicate professionally with customers, contractors and internal team members Maintain an organized work area and a clean company vehicle Provide high-quality workmanship with strong attention to detail Perform additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications Current Texas Fire Alarm License—FAL required Minimum five years of fire alarm industry experience Commercial fire alarm installation and troubleshooting experience Ability to read plans, schematics, submittals and technical documentation Experience programming and servicing multiple fire alarm systems Strong computer skills and familiarity with Windows-based software Working knowledge of RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet and TCP/IP protocols High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company standards Ability to satisfy applicable background and Alarm Agent licensing requirements Ability to pass required drug screening and physical Ability to travel throughout the branch or regional service territory Ability to work from ladders, work at heights and enter confined spaces Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Professional appearance, communication skills and customer-service mindset Preferred Qualifications Texas FEL-B Fire Extinguisher License NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification Journeyman Electrician License Associate degree or additional technical education Kitchen hood system experience or licensing Conduit installation and bending experience Experience with Siemens, Farenhyt, Simplex or other major fire alarm manufacturers Manufacturer-specific certifications Experience with burglar alarm, CCTV, access control or related low-voltage systems About the Equipment The company distributes and supports Siemens and Farenhyt fire alarm systems.
