Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Security Installation Technician and play a vital role in deploying cutting-edge security systems that safeguard businesses and communities. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting a wide range of security solutions, including alarm systems, CCTV surveillance, access control, and low-voltage electrical wiring. Your expertise will ensure our clients receive reliable, top-tier security infrastructure tailored to their needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced environment while making a tangible difference in safety and security. Duties Install electrical security systems such as alarms, access controls, CCTV cameras, sensors, and fire alarm systems following schematics and blueprints. Read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and blueprints to ensure precise system setup and integration. Conduct troubleshooting of security equipment including IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), surveillance cameras, sensors, and low-voltage wiring issues. Perform system design modifications and upgrades based on client requirements or evolving security standards. Utilize hand tools, power tools, cable management equipment, and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards to complete installations efficiently. Provide technical troubleshooting support during installation and post-installation to resolve hardware or connectivity issues. Engage with customers to explain system features, conduct training on remote access software, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the installation process. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician or installer in electrical security system installation with a strong background in low-voltage electrical systems. Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using power tools, hand tools, and cabling techniques for electrical wiring. Familiarity with computer hardware components related to security systems and proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and schematics. Knowledge of CCTV surveillance systems, alarm & access control systems, sensors, fire alarms, and remote access software platforms. Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues related to electrical wiring, networking, or hardware failures effectively. Strong understanding of electrical blueprint reading, low-voltage electrical wiring standards (NEC), and system design principles. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Physical ability to work at heights or in confined spaces as required during installations.
