About the Role We're hiring experienced low-voltage security technicians for a commercial access control installation project at a large distribution facility in the Houston area, with additional similar sites in the pipeline.

This is hands-on field work:

pulling cable, mounting and wiring access control panels, terminating card readers and door hardware, and supporting a licensed integrator through system testing and activation. Some assignments run several weeks and require travel and overnight stays away from home. Responsibilities Install, terminate, and dress wiring for access control panels, power supplies, and battery backups Pull and terminate structured cable per

ANSI/TIA-568

standards Install and wire card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, and electronic locking hardware Mount exterior enclosures, pedestals, and associated hardware Label devices and cable per project documentation Work safely from ladders and scissor lifts, including elevated interior runs Support a security integrator during device programming and system commissioning as on-site hands Read and work from construction drawings, device schedules, and scopes of work Required Experience 2+ years hands-on experience installing commercial access control or security systems Experience terminating and troubleshooting access control hardware from manufacturers such as Mercury Security, HID, and Safetrust Experience with intrusion detection devices (Bosch or comparable) Structured cabling experience, Cat6/Cat6A terminations Comfort working from a scissor lift; OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check for site access Willingness to travel and stay on-site for multi-week assignments Preferred Familiarity with Feenics, Software House, Lenel, or similar access control software platforms Experience on large-scale commercial security installation projects Non-union background Pay & Travel $25-$42/hour, depending on established work experience. When working an out-of-town assignment, we also cover lodging, $35/day per diem, and $0.70/mile for travel to and from the site.
