Job Description
Fire Alarm Installer, Lead Century Fire Protection Houston - Magnolia, TX 77355 Apply Overview Position Type Full Time Apply Fire Alarm Installer, Lead Summary Responsible for leading and performing the installation, modification, and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems while supervising a crew of installers; ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and approved plans; serves as the primary on-site point of contact and is accountable for job quality, productivity, and crew performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Lead the installation of fire alarm systems including addressable and conventional panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, power supplies, and wiring. Read, interpret, and execute work based on approved drawings, specifications, and submittals. Perform device mounting, wire pulling, terminations, labeling, and system programming support (as applicable). Conduct system testing, pre-testing, and commissioning activities prior to AHJ inspections. Troubleshoot system issues, verify device operation, and correct deficiencies. Supervise and direct installers on job sites. Assign daily tasks and ensure productivity and quality standards are met. Train and mentor less experienced technicians in proper installation methods and code compliance. Complete daily reports, time tracking, and material usage documentation. Education and/or Experience High school diploma and 4-7 years of fire alarm installation fire alarm installation experience, with prior lead or supervisory experience preferred; strong working knowledge of fire alarm systems, components, and installation practices; ability to read blueprints, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics. NICET or other fire alarm certifications preferred; experience with addressable systems (e.g., Notifier, Simplex, Edwards, Siemens, Honeywell, Bosch). Computer Skills Microsoft Office applications, Word & Excel. Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces; ability to work at heights and on active construction sites; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; field-based role at commercial, industrial, and residential job sites, exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and construction environments; overtime or travel between job sites required.
