The role involves installing, configuring, and servicing security and fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair fire alarms, security systems, video surveillance, access control, and related equipment at customer sites
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure proper system placement and integration
- Program and test systems for optimal performance and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Conduct inspections and troubleshoot system malfunctions, providing timely and effective resolutions
- Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Complete accurate documentation of service calls, installations, and equipment inventories
- Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project completion
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and codes
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electronics, security, or fire systems preferred
- Proven experience installing and servicing fire alarm and security systems
- Familiarity with industry standards (NFPA, NEC, etc.) and local/state regulations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various environments
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training
