Fire Alarm License Full Job Description Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Senior Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Technician with valid Texas FAL (Fire Alarm License) and FEL-A (Fire Extinguisher License

• Type A) certifications.

This role is responsible for leading inspections, installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire protection systems in commercial and industrial environments. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent customer communication skills, and the ability to support team members while ensuring all work meets applicable codes, safety standards, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead inspection, testing, installation, servicing, and troubleshooting of fire alarm and fire suppression systems in compliance with NFPA standards and Texas regulations
• Diagnose complex system issues and perform accurate, efficient repairs
• Inspect, repair, and install fire suppression systems and related equipment
• Review job scope, site conditions, and service requirements to complete work safely and correctly
• Complete required documentation, inspection reports, deficiency notes, and compliance records accurately and on time
• Ensure all work meets state codes, NFPA requirements, company standards, and customer safety expectations
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding system status, deficiencies, repair recommendations, and next steps
• Mentor junior technicians and provide technical guidance when needed
• Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicle in good working order
• Regulatory compliance of DOT and FMCSA standards

Required Qualifications:

• Active Texas FAL license (Fire Alarm License)
• Active Texas FEL-A license (Fire Extinguisher License
• Type A)
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on fire alarm and/or fire suppression experience preferred
• Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes, Texas regulations, and local fire safety requirements
• Advanced experience with fire alarm panels, initiating and notification devices, suppression systems, and related components
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and inspection documentation
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service skills
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience training or mentoring technicians
• Experience handling service calls independently from diagnosis through completion
• Additional fire protection certifications or manufacturer training

Work Environment:

This position involves travel to customer sites, working indoors and outdoors, and occasional after-hours or emergency service calls. Senior technicians may also be asked to support urgent service needs, provide field guidance, and assist with complex technical issues.
