Position Summary Job Type:
1099 - Contract We are seeking an experienced Access Control Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support electronic access control and security systems in commercial, data center, and high-security environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with access control hardware, low-voltage cabling, panel installation, and troubleshooting. Experience with Honeywell systems is highly preferred, along with familiarity with other industry-leading access control platforms. Key Responsibilities Install, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling. Install, configure, and troubleshoot access control systems and associated hardware. Install and wire access control panels, power supplies, and head-end equipment. Read and interpret floor plans, riser diagrams, wiring diagrams, and wiring schematics. Perform system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure proper operation. Utilize multimeters to test voltage, continuity, and resistance. Diagnose and repair access control and integrated security system issues. Work closely with project managers, security teams, and customers to ensure successful project completion. Maintain accurate documentation of installations, testing, and service activities. Follow all site safety requirements, security protocols, and company procedures. Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in access control, security systems, or low-voltage installation. Experience working with access control platforms. Experience installing and wiring access control panels. Proficiency reading and working from wiring schematics, floor plans, and riser diagrams. Experience troubleshooting access control systems and field devices. Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring practices. Experience using digital multimeters. Knowledge of continuity and resistance testing. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Soldering Experience OHSA 10 Certification Preferred Qualifications Experience working in data centers or high-security facilities. Experience commissioning enterprise-level security systems. Manufacturer certifications related to access control systems. Soldering low-voltage wiring connections. Soldering printed circuit boards (PCBs). Proper use of heat shrink tubing and wire protection techniques. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms. Ability to work in commercial buildings, data centers, and construction environments. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physical installation work throughout the workday. Pay:
$28.00 - $30.00 per hour
