Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of security and alarm systems, including fire alarms, CCTV surveillance, access control, and low-voltage electrical systems. Your expertise will ensure our clients' safety and security through precise system design, installation, and service. Responsibilities Install electrical security systems such as alarm & access control systems, fire alarms, CCTV cameras, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and door security system integrations. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate system setup. Troubleshoot and repair low-voltage electrical wiring, cabling, equipment issues, and network connectivity problems using hand tools and power tools. Conduct routine maintenance checks on surveillance equipment, sensors, fire alarm systems, and other security hardware. Provide technical troubleshooting support for complex system malfunctions in the field; identify root causes and implement effective solutions swiftly. Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs; offer expert advice on system design enhancements and alarm system sales opportunities. Ensure all installations comply with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and local safety regulations while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician specializing in electrical security system installation or maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience working with CCTV surveillance, sensors, IDS, fire alarms, and low-voltage electrical systems. Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret technical documentation accurately. Proficiency in computer hardware setup, remote access software configuration, telecommunication wiring, and network troubleshooting. Familiarity with construction processes related to security system installation; experience working with schematics and low-voltage electrical wiring is highly preferred. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Knowledge of NEC standards, low-voltage wiring techniques, locksmithing basics, and electrical blueprint reading is advantageous. Ability to operate power tools safely while adhering to all safety protocols; physical capability to work in various environments requiring lifting or climbing as needed.
