Overview The Low Voltage Specialist will provide skilled installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of a variety of equipment including fire alarm systems, network cable and door access working at construction sites, businesses and residences. This is a full time position. Hours will vary by site and time of year. Responsibilities Typical duties include the following, although specific duties will vary by job or assignment:

• Install, service, repair and maintain a variety of specialized equipment including fire alarm systems, area of refuge, network cable and door access.
• Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, program and service electrical equipment; assist end users with set-up, operation and configuration changes as necessary.
• Replace components in a variety of systems as needed; estimate time and materials for needed repairs, upgrades or equipment replacement.
• Work from plans, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings and work orders.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

• Indoor and outdoor work environments.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate tools; bending, kneeling, standing for extended periods of time; reaching above head; lifting and carrying of heavy equipment or materials; using ladders; working in cramped spaces.

Requirements:

• Ability to interpret from wiring diagrams, schematic drawings or blueprints.
• Ability to diagnose problems.
• Proper use and care of test equipment and tools.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines.
• Good troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Valid Driver's license.

Education/Experience:

• Graduation from high school.
• Experience in repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of low voltage electrical systems.

Pay:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
