This role is ideal for someone with strong low-voltage wiring skills who can accurately read fire alarm drawings and schematics, build clean and organized panel assemblies, and help field installation teams complete projects faster and more efficiently. Key Responsibilities Build and assemble prefabricated fire alarm system components, panels, backboards, and enclosures according to approved drawings and project specifications Mount fire alarm control panels (FACPs), power supplies, modules, relays, terminal blocks, and related devices Pre-wire low-voltage fire alarm circuits and components using wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, schematics, and device layouts Measure, cut, strip, terminate, route, and dress wiring neatly and accurately Label wires, terminals, devices, panels, and assemblies so field technicians can quickly identify and install components Prepare project-specific kits, hardware, devices, and materials for shipment to job sites Verify materials and equipment against drawings, bills of material, and project requirements Perform continuity checks, point-to-point verification, and basic power-up or functional testing when required before assemblies leave the shop Identify wiring, component, or drawing discrepancies and communicate issues to project managers, designers, or field teams Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient prefab work area and follow company quality-control procedures Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Strong understanding of low-voltage electrical wiring and fire alarm system components Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, and electrical schematics Ability to perform clean, consistent wire terminations and organized panel wiring Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with common hand and power tools Strong attention to detail, labeling accuracy, and quality control Ability to troubleshoot basic wiring issues using a multimeter and other test equipment Ability to work independently while coordinating with designers, project managers, warehouse staff, and field technicians Safety awareness, reliability, teamwork, and excellent attendance Requirements and Qualifications Low-voltage, electrical, controls, or panel-building experience preferred Hands-on experience wiring fire alarm control panels, power supplies, modules, relays, or similar low-voltage equipment strongly preferred Ability to follow project drawings and manufacturer wiring instructions without field supervision Familiarity with NFPA 72 and applicable fire alarm installation standards is preferred Ability to safely lift and handle panels, backboards, wire, tools, and project materials as required Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
