Physical Security Technician Responsibilities & Duties Install, configure, and maintain access control & video surveillance systems Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning access control & video surveillance equipment Conduct regular maintenance checks and update systems as necessary Ensure the proper functioning of card readers, and electronic locks Implement and program access control software Work with clients to customize security settings and access privileges Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents Train clients and end-users on the operation of access control systems Collaborate with IT and security teams to integrate access control with other security systems Document system configurations, changes, and maintenance activities Stay updated on the latest security technologies and industry practices Conduct risk assessments and recommend improvements for enhanced security Ensure compliance with relevant security regulations and standards Access Control Technician Qualifications & Skills Experience with video & access control systems and security technologies Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues Strong understanding of networking and IT principles Certifications in security systems (e.g., A+, Network+, or specific access control certifications) Excellent problem-solving skills Familiarity with building codes and regulations related to security Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience in training and supporting end-users High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred Basic understanding of electrical and electronic principles Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to access control Capability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals Valid driver's license for on-site visits and installations Ability to pass a background check and security clearance Strong attention to detail Physical ability to lift and install heavy equipment Good time management and organizational skills Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary

$50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
