Duties Perform automotive structural repairs, including frame straightening and sheet metal work using MIG welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques. Utilize hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive welding equipment to restore vehicle bodies with high precision. Conduct auto body repairs such as dent removal, auto painting, auto glass replacement, and automotive cosmetic repairs to achieve flawless finishes. Apply auto refinishing techniques including airless paint spraying and automotive body refinishing to deliver a professional look. Install automotive parts such as bumpers, panels, trim, and auto glass while ensuring proper fitment and alignment. Use automotive estimating skills to assess damage severity and determine repair scope; communicate effectively with customers about repair processes. Assist with auto restoration projects by fabricating custom parts or repairing damaged sheet metal using welding repair and fabrication repair techniques. Support vehicle maintenance tasks including detailing, assembly, and automotive parts installation to ensure vehicles are road-ready. Handle heavy lifting safely during repairs or parts replacement while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while documenting repair procedures accurately for quality control. Requirements Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a dealership environment with hands-on auto body repair expertise. Strong knowledge of automotive structural repair, sheet metal work, auto painting, and cosmetic finishing techniques. Proficiency with MIG welding, soldering, welding repair, automotive welding equipment, and fabrication methods. Familiarity with auto restoration processes and the use of sanding tools, power tools, airless paint sprayers, and detailing equipment. Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance, auto glass installation, automotive parts installation, and general automotive repair. Ability to interpret auto estimating procedures and communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs. Experience working with automotive parts installation and understanding of automotive components such as sheet metal panels or structural elements is preferred. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent hand-eye coordination for precise repairs. Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in various positions for extended periods.
