$60,000 - $85,000/year (Dependent on experience) Job Summary We are seeking a Licensed Auto Body Damage Appraiser / Customer Service Representative to join our collision center team. In this position, you will serve as the primary link between our customers, technicians, and insurance providers. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional communication skills, a high level of empathy, and deep technical knowledge of automotive collision repair. You will be responsible for creating precise repair estimates while guiding customers seamlessly through the stress of the vehicle restoration process.
Key Responsibilities Customer Care:
Greet customers, answer inquiries, provide regular repair status updates, and confidently guide them through the insurance claims workflow.
Damage Appraisal:
Conduct comprehensive physical and visual inspections of collision-damaged vehicles to document necessary repairs utilizing your knowledge of vehicles, manufacturer recommendations, and position statements.
Estimating:
Utilize industry-standard software (such as CCC ONE ) to write precise, comprehensive, and profitable repair estimates in line with shop metrics, manufacturer and safety requirements and insurance guidelines.
Insurance Liaison:
Negotiate repair plans and supplements directly with insurance adjusters to secure safe, proper vehicle repair approvals.
Workflow Coordination:
Collaborate closely with shop foreman and parts coordinators to ensure flat-rate metrics, tracking, and delivery timelines are met.
Qualifications & Requirements Licensure:
Must hold a valid Connecticut Motor Vehicle Physical Damage (MVPD) Appraiser License (Required).
Software:
Proven proficiency with collision estimating platforms, explicitly CCC ONE Mobile / Desktop, Alldata and I-CAR .
Experience:
2+ years of experience in an auto body shop environment handling estimating, customer service, or DRP (Direct Repair Program) administration.
Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven history of high-level conflict resolution and customer satisfaction.
Legal:
High School Diploma/GED and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
