Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and energetic Auto Body Painter specializing in semi-trucks, RVs, and heavy equipment. In this vital role, you will transform damaged or worn surfaces into pristine finishes, ensuring vehicles and equipment look their best and meet industry standards. Your expertise in automotive painting, surface preparation, and refinishing will contribute to our reputation for quality craftsmanship. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of large-scale vehicles and equipment, utilizing your technical skills and passion for auto body repair. Responsibilities Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, masking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply primers, paints, coatings, and finishes using spray gun systems with precision. Perform surface repairs including filling dents, smoothing imperfections, and restoring original contours. Operate power tools like grinders and buffing machines to achieve smooth, high-quality finishes. Conduct auto restoration tasks by stripping old paint, repairing damaged panels, and refinishing surfaces to factory standards. Follow safety protocols by using respiratory protection and proper handling of paints and chemicals. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards. Skills Proven heavy vehicle repair experience with a focus on auto body painting. Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and auto restoration processes. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, sanders, grinders, and buffing equipment. Expertise in automotive surface preparation including masking, sanding, and priming techniques. Skilled in applying paints using a spray gun with attention to detail. Knowledge of automotive buffing techniques for achieving flawless finishes. Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when moving large vehicles or equipment parts.
