Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Combo Auto Body Technician to join our team and bring exceptional craftsmanship to vehicle repair and restoration. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of automotive projects, from structural repairs to cosmetic refinishing, utilizing advanced welding, fabrication, and auto body repair techniques. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about restoring vehicles to their original condition with precision and care. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality repairs that exceed customer expectations while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Responsibilities Perform automotive structural repairs, including sheet metal work, auto restoration, and collision damage repair using MIG welding, soldering, and other welding repair techniques. Utilize hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive welding equipment to shape, align, and assemble vehicle components accurately. Conduct auto body repairs such as dent removal, panel replacement, auto painting with airless paint spraying equipment, and automotive cosmetic repairs to restore vehicles' appearance. Install automotive parts and perform mechanical tasks related to vehicle maintenance and assembly processes. Apply fabrication repair techniques for custom modifications or repairs involving sheet metal fabrication and structural reinforcement. Ensure all repairs meet dealership standards for quality, safety, and durability by adhering to automotive parts installation guidelines and auto estimating procedures. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while following safety protocols during heavy lifting, welding operations, and use of sanding or painting tools. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair progress clearly and ensuring satisfaction with completed work. Experience Prior dealership experience or hands-on work as an automotive body technician is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, fabrication repair techniques, and automotive welding equipment operation. Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance, auto restoration processes, and automotive structural repair. Experience working with sheet metal, automotive parts installation, auto painting, detailing, and automotive cosmetic repair is advantageous. Familiarity with auto estimating software and auto body repair standards helps ensure accurate assessments and efficient workflow. Ability to operate various hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, airless paint sprayers, and other specialized equipment confidently. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment are essential.
