Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Body Shop Estimator to join our fast-paced automotive repair team. In this role, you will be the key point of contact for customers and insurance adjusters, accurately assessing vehicle damage and creating comprehensive repair estimates. Duties Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess extent of collision or repair needs using computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software. Prepare detailed, accurate repair estimates that include parts, labor, and materials, ensuring transparency for customers and insurance providers. Communicate clearly with clients regarding repair procedures, costs, and timelines while providing exceptional customer service throughout the process. Collaborate with technicians, mechanics, and service writers to coordinate repairs and ensure timely completion of work. Identify opportunities for upselling additional services such as alignments, suspension repairs, tire services, shocks & struts, brake repairs, oil changes, air brake systems, transmissions, or other automotive diagnostics. Manage client communication effectively by explaining repair options and costs in a professional manner. Handle cash transactions securely when applicable and maintain accurate records of estimates and repairs performed. Qualifications Proven experience as an auto body estimator or in a similar role within a dealership or collision repair shop. Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and collision repair processes. Proficiency with estimating software programs used in auto service management and auto estimating tasks. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Demonstrated ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and professionalism. Experience working with insurance claims processes and understanding of dealership operations preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles when necessary. Knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, suspension components, tire services, shocks & struts, brake systems, oil changes, air brakes, alignments, and other essential repairs is highly desirable.
