Vache Highland Shipping LLC is an Amazon Delivery Service Partner (DSP) based in Slidell, Louisiana. We operate a fleet of 50+ delivery vehicles used to deliver Amazon packages throughout the local area. We are looking for an experienced Auto Body Technician who wants something different from a traditional body shop environment. This is a unique hands-on role combining auto body repair, light vehicle maintenance, fleet coordination, parts and inventory management, and administrative tracking. Your primary technical specialty will be auto body and cosmetic repair . We are not looking for someone to perform heavy-duty mechanical repairs. Major mechanical, warranty, and specialized repairs are outsourced. You'll also help take ownership of the overall condition and readiness of our fleet — identifying problems, coordinating repairs, tracking vehicle status, and helping ensure we have enough road-ready vehicles to meet our daily Amazon route commitments.

Our goal is simple:

keep our vehicles safe, looking great, properly maintained, and on the road with as little downtime as possible. Responsibilities 1. Auto Body Repair Body repair is an important part of this position. Our delivery vehicles are on the road every day, and damage happens.

You'll:

Repair dents, scrapes, gouges, and other common fleet body damage Repair or replace damaged bumpers, rocker panels, doors, body panels, trim, and exterior components Perform minor sheet-metal and panel repairs Perform sanding, filling, preparation, touch-up, painting, and refinishing within your skill set Repair cosmetic damage before it becomes a larger or more expensive problem Assess damage and determine whether it can be repaired efficiently in-house or should be outsourced Inspect completed repairs for quality Coordinate with outside body shops when a repair requires specialized equipment or facilities This is not a heavy collision or structural-repair position. Major collision work will be outsourced when appropriate. 2. Light Maintenance & Vehicle Inspections You'll proactively inspect our vehicles and handle minor repairs that can quickly keep or return a vehicle to service.

You'll:

Conduct regular vehicle walk-arounds and condition inspections Identify new damage, worn components, tire concerns, warning lights, and maintenance needs Help ensure vehicles are road-ready before they're needed for daily routes Replace headlights, marker lights, bulbs, mirrors, mirror glass, and wiper blades Replace minor trim, body components, and other easily serviceable parts Perform basic fluid checks and top-offs Swap wheels/tires when appropriate Perform minor troubleshooting and simple repairs within your skill set Identify mechanical issues requiring professional diagnosis or repair Proactively find problems instead of relying solely on drivers or managers to report them You are not expected to perform heavy mechanical repairs. Oil changes, tire mounting/balancing, major mechanical repairs, warranty work, and specialized services can be handled by outside providers. 3. Fleet Coordination & Administration This is not only a hands-on technician position . You'll also be responsible for knowing the status of our fleet and helping ensure we have enough road-ready vehicles to meet our daily route commitments.

You'll:

Maintain an accurate and up-to-date Google Sheets fleet tracker Track which vehicles are road-ready, grounded, awaiting repairs, waiting on parts, or at an outside vendor Monitor daily and upcoming vehicle needs to help ensure sufficient fleet availability Identify potential vehicle shortages before they affect operations Track out-of-service vehicles from the initial problem through their return to service Prioritize work based on safety, route needs, vehicle downtime, repair cost, and parts availability Schedule dealership, warranty, body shop, tire, maintenance, and other service appointments Follow up proactively on outstanding repairs and unnecessary delays Maintain repair records, estimates, invoices, receipts, and other fleet documentation Complete and track required digital vehicle inspections and fleet processes Communicate fleet availability, risks, repair status, and urgent issues to our operations team At any given time, you should be able to tell us how many vehicles are available, which vehicles are down, why they're down, what's being done about each one, and when we expect them back on the road. 4. Parts, Vendors & Inventory Keeping the fleet moving means having the right parts, supplies, and outside resources available when they're needed.

You'll:

Order replacement parts and fleet supplies Maintain appropriate inventory of commonly used items such as lights, mirrors, wiper blades, and other replacement parts Track parts usage and reorder supplies before they run out Keep parts, tires, tools, and supplies clean and organized Research parts availability, pricing, and alternative sources Develop relationships with reliable dealerships, body shops, tire shops, parts suppliers, and mobile service providers Obtain and compare quotes for outside repairs and services Help negotiate competitive pricing based on our ongoing fleet needs Coordinate mobile oil changes, tire services, vehicle washing/vacuuming, and other recurring maintenance Follow up with vendors until work is actually completed Determine whether repairs are more efficient and cost-effective to perform in-house or outsource Look for opportunities to reduce costs without sacrificing safety or repair quality Maintain an organized fleet storage and work area What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who takes ownership . You shouldn't need someone to hand you a list every morning telling you what needs to be done. If you see damage, investigate it. If a light is out, replace it. If a commonly used part is running low, reorder it. If a vehicle has been sitting at a dealership longer than expected, follow up. If a repair needs to be outsourced, find the right solution and coordinate it through completion. You'll have support from our management team, but we're looking for someone who can work independently, prioritize intelligently, and take pride in the condition of the fleet.
