Job Description

The Body Shop Technician Trainee is an entry-level position designed for individuals interested in developing a career in automotive collision repair. Working alongside experienced Body Shop Technicians, the trainee will gain hands-on experience in vehicle repair processes, shop procedures, tools, equipment, and industry standards. This position provides an opportunity to build technical skills through on-the-job training while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Body Shop. Essential DutiesResponsibilities Works alongside an assigned Body Shop Technician to learn proper collision repair techniques, procedures, and industry standards. Assists with vehicle disassembly, reassembly, repair preparation, and other body repair tasks under the direction of an experienced technician. Learns the proper and safe use of body shop tools, equipment, and materials. Moves customer vehicles into and out of work areas as directed. Retrieves parts, materials, and supplies needed for repairs. Assists with maintaining an organized, clean, and safe work environment. Replenishes shop supplies and materials as needed. Follows all company safety procedures and manufacturer repair guidelines. Participates in required technical training, certification programs, and departmental meetings. Demonstrates a willingness to learn, accept coaching, and continually develop technical skills. Performs other duties as assigned. SkillsQualifications No previous collision repair experience required; automotive or mechanical experience is a plus. High school diploma or GED preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in automotive collision repair. Ability and willingness to learn new skills through hands-on instruction and formal training. Dependable, motivated, and able to follow instructions and established procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced shop environment. Must maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Ability to safely operate vehicles, tools, and equipment after appropriate training.
