Job Description

Job Title Collision Repair Technician Job Description Summary/objective The Collision Repair Technician at Shannon's Auto Body is responsible for identifying, analyzing and repairing damage that affects a vehicle's structural safety, cosmetic appearance, and performance. This position is responsible for repairing vehicle to manufacturer and customer standards following industry best practices and manufacturer repair procedures. This position requires tools provided by the technician; Shannon's Auto Body will provide larger and specialized tools as needed to perform essential functions. Essential functions § Repairs vehicles per repair plan and according to manufacturer's standards § Replaces or repairs parts and assemblies as required to return vehicle to a safe and pre-loss condition § Prepares vehicles for and performs body repair work § Verifies correct parts and ensures correct parts are used in all repairs § Notifies Production Manager of any additional parts or repairs needed § Communicates any difficulties or setbacks that prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in promised time § Communicate effectively with peers and management § Assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles § Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair § Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner § Develop appropriate and efficient methods for each job § Ensure that health and safety guidelines are always followed Competencies Knowledge - Technical Organization and Time Management Energy Level - Physical Work environment Facility Production Shop Required education and experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven record of quality collision repair experience Current Driver's License Preferred Education and Experience 5 Years Experience as an Auto Body Repair Technician One-year certificate from college or technical school; 6 months to 1-year related experience and training or equivalent combination. Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school I-CAR Platinum level technician (body or structural as required) An equivalent combination of education, training and experience can substitute for educational requirement Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of vehicle construction and materials Knowledge of manufacture's repair procedures Ability to read and interpret estimates written in CCC, repair technical documents, manufacture's procedures and repair product instructions Ability to identify all damaged parts on assigned jobs Ability to work in a high performance, fast paced team environment Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment Ability to learn and apply new vehicle repair methods and technologies Ability to act decisively and solve repair or equipment related issues Ability to multi-task and work under pressure Attention to detail to ensure the highest quality levels
