Body Shop Technician Responsibilities:
Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Repair truck body damage. Install aftermarket parts. Repair damage to vehicles as necessary and within the guidelines established at time of repair approval. Interacts with dealership personnel and customers. Look for and report any and all hidden damage observed during the repair process. Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by thecustomer. Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order. If tech has a CDL road testing vehicles may be required. Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events. Attain industry certifications as required. Keep abreast of manufacturer updates and technical bulletins. Mentor less-skilled technicians as assigned. Report machinery and equipment defects and malfunctions to department management. Keep shop area neat and clean. Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and equipment including returning to proper storage location when done. Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as EPA, OSHA, and DOT. Work in a safe manner at all times. Report any safety issues to management immediately. Perform other duties as assigned
