In this role, you will prepare vehicles for painting and repair by performing essential surface preparation, sanding, masking, and minor body work. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your auto body skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment dedicated to excellence. Duties Safely sand, grind, and clean vehicle surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion and repair quality Mask off areas to protect surfaces during painting or coating processes using hand tools and masking tape Maintain a clean and organized workspace by properly disposing of debris and ensuring tools are stored correctly Support auto restoration projects by preparing vehicles for subsequent repair stages with precision and care Compound and details vehicles with care and precision ensuring not to burn or damage paint and panels. Requirements 2 years auto body shop experience preferred; familiarity with auto repair processes is a plus Proficiency in wet sanding is a plus Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, auto painting techniques, and detailing procedures Experience with buffing techniques highly desirable Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment safely; physical stamina for prolonged standing and manual labor Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship Excellent customer service skills when interacting with team members or clients regarding vehicle prep status Basic auto estimating knowledge is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn is essential Must know how to compound and wet sand!
